Johann Panzer

Johann Panzer (born April 4, 1875 in Bayreuth , † March 6, 1950 ibid) was a German social democratic politician.

Life

Panzer worked as a journeyman carpenter until 1908 . At an unknown time, he joined the SPD. In 1900 and 1901 he was chairman of the party in Bayreuth. Since 1903 he was a member of the district executive. Between 1903 and 1908 Panzer was chairman of the press commission in Bayreuth. In addition, from 1903 to probably 1927 he was a member of the board of directors of the Upper Franconian State Insurance Company and, from 1906, chairman of the timber workers' association in Bayreuth. His main job was as a party secretary in Bayreuth between 1908 and 1918. At the same time he was a reporter for the " Franconian Volksbühne ". Between 1908 and 1914 he was municipal representative and since 1914 city councilor in Bayreuth. Between 1914 and 1916, Panzer participated in the war. He returned from the First World War as a war disabled. From 1918 to probably 1921 he was editor of the Franconian Volksbühne and from then until 1933 again party secretary. Panzer was a member of the Weimar National Assembly between 1919 and 1921 . During the time of National Socialism he was temporarily imprisoned.
