Johann Peter Brinckmann

Johann Peter Brinckmann (born June 13, 1746 in Orsoy am Rhein , † June 26, 1785 in Saint Petersburg ) was a German physician.

Life

Brinckmann studied in Duisburg , Göttingen and Leiden and received his doctorate there in 1765. Later he was a practicing doctor in Kleve and Düsseldorf . He then became medical advisor and personal physician of the Jülich-Bergisches Princely House and in particular of Grand Duke Paul of Russia . He achieved particular importance for his efforts to improve the hygienic conditions. He was married to Gertrude Günther from Solingen. The daughter Marie Luise (1776–1845) married Georg Arnold Jacobi , Privy Councilor in Pempelfort, son of Friedrich Heinrich Jacobi .
