Johann Theodor von Rouvroy
Johann Theodor Freiherr von Rouvroy (* 1727 in Luxembourg ; † September 30, 1789 in Semlin , today the city of Belgrade ) was an Austrian artillery general.
He initially served in the Saxon army , joined the Austrian artillery as a captain in 1753 and fought with distinction in the Seven Years' War under Ernst Gideon von Laudon . In 1765 he became commander of the Maria Theresa Order , in 1787 Feldzeugmeister and took part in the Turkish war in 1789 as commander of the artillery . Rouvroy died in Semlin on September 30, 1789. The fortress artillery regiment No. 5 was named in his honor in 1891.
