Johann Ulrich Mayr

Johann Ulrich Mayr (* 1630 in Augsburg ; † June 11, 1704 there ) was a German baroque painter .

Life

After Joachim von Sandrart , he was the son of the painter Susanna Mayr , whose father Johannes Fischer was also a painter. The Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD) identifies Mayr as a student of Rembrandt in Amsterdam and as a student of Jacob Jordaens in Antwerp . Johann Ulrich Mayr toured England and Rome and was known for his etchings .
