Johann Ulrich Sutter-Sutter

Johann Ulrich Sutter (born June 10, 1822 in Bühler , † August 10, 1882 in Bühler; resident in Bühler) was a Swiss merchant , governor and national councilor from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Johann Ulrich Sutter was a son of Johann Ulrich Sutter, farmer and weaver , and Anna Frehner. In 1847 he married Louise Sutter, daughter of Johann Ulrich Sutter. At the age of twelve, Sutter entered the business of his future father-in-law, to whom he was not related. He attended his private secondary school . He then completed commercial training in Florence from 1840 to 1842 . He continued this from 1842 to 1845 in Palermo . From 1845 he worked as an accountant for his father-in-law. In 1869 he took over the company. From 1849 to 1860, the moderate liberal Sutter was community Captain Buhler. From 1860 to 1867 and from 1875 to 1878 he served as chief judge. From 1867 to 1871 he held the office of regional master craftsman. He sat on the National Council from 1868 to 1870. In the years 1871 to 1875 he was Ausserrhoder Landammann and from 1875 to 1879 auditor. He was a member of the cantonal bank administration from 1876 to 1880 and headed Sparkasse Bühler until 1882.
