Johann Vincenz Caemmerer

Johann Vincenz Caemmerer (born May 9, 1761 in Mainz , † March 26, 1817 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German lawyer, comedy poet and publicist.

Life

Johann Vincenz Caemmerer studied in Mainz, Erfurt and Jena, was Count Hofmeister from 1784–85, worked at the Imperial Court of Justice in Wetzlar in 1786 , at the Electoral Mainz District Directorate Legation in Frankfurt am Main from 1787–88 and went to Regensburg in 1789 as the Legation Chancellery of the Electoral Mainz Imperial Directorial Legation . In 1786 he became a Freemason and in 1790 he joined the local lodge Karl to the three keys in Regensburg . In Frankfurt he joined the Socrates lodge for steadfastness . Here he became registrar of the legation in 1796, legation secretary to the Prince-Bishop of Hildesheim and Paderborn in 1797, and Count of the Imperial Palatinate. In 1804 Caemmerer became legation secretary to the Prince of Salm-Kyrburg with the rank of legation councilor. He later edited the Frankfurt “Ristretto”.

In addition to a few comedies and dramaturgical essays, he wrote, among other things, a biography of the Elector of Mainz minister and Reich Directorial envoy Gottlieb Augustin Maximilian von Strauss and “Excerpts from all performances and reclamations handed over to the High Reich Deputation in Regensburg”, 1803, 4 booklets. He also published the " main conclusion of the extraordinary Reichsdeputation of February 25, 1803" with annotations, 1804, 2nd edition. 1814.
