Johann Wickinghof

Johann Wickinghof (* in Lübeck ; † November 24, 1493 ibid) was a Lübeck mayor .

Life

Johann Wickinghof was the son of the Lübeck citizen Lambert Wickinghof . In 1467 he was elected to the city council and in 1470 was accepted into the circle of the patrician circle society . In 1474 and 1476 he settled disputes in Bergen (Norway) , where he mediated between the German merchants in the Hanseatic office on Bryggen and craftsmen. In 1484 he became mayor of Lübeck and negotiated with the Ratzeburg bishop Johannes V. von Berkentin , who gave shelter to muggers. In 1486 and 1487 he negotiated the settlement between the Hanseatic city of Rostock and Duke Magnus II of Mecklenburg in Wilsnack . In 1487, Wickinghof was in negotiations between Hamburg and the Archbishop of Bremen Heinrich II. Von Schwarzburg .

He was married to Anneke Leve, daughter of the stable owner Laurens Leve on the island of Strand , and father of the Lübeck councilor Lambert Wickinghof .
