Johann Wilhelm Weidringer

Johann Wilhelm Weidringer (* 1956 ) is a German professor for health management at the University of Health and Sport and the University of Applied Management .

Weidringer studied human medicine at the University of Regensburg and at the Klinikum rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich , where he also received his doctorate. med. His specialty is surgery .

From 1982 to 1983 and 1986 to 1991 he worked as a surgeon at the Bundeswehr Hospital in Ulm . Since 1986 he has also been a lecturer in disaster medicine at the Technical University of Munich . From 1986 to 1991 he also worked there at the Institute for Experimental Surgery and then for a year as a surgeon in trauma surgery at the Klinikum rechts der Isar . From 2002 to 2008 he was a lecturer at the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences for quality management.

He has been a member of the Bavarian Medical Association since 1992 and has been a managing doctor since 1994, as head of department responsible for advanced medical training and quality management. In these areas he is u. a. active in the committees of the German Medical Association and in the German Institute for Standardization .

Weidringer has been working on a part-time basis in emergency medical services at Munich Airport since 1994.

From 2007 to 2014 he was the course director for health management at the University of Health and Sport in Berlin . In January 2015 he received the professorship for life from the Berlin Senate Department for Education, Youth and Science.

Since 2000 to 2013 he was a member of the Protection Commission at the Federal Ministry of the Interior , dealing with the topics of disaster , civil and Civil Protection busy, and Head of the Department of Medicine. From 2010 to 2012 he was chairman of the commission.

After qualifying as an EFQM assessor, he was appointed a juror for the European Quality Award (EQA) of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) for the years 2000 to 2007.

From 2004 to 2006 he was a member of the EU Expert Team on Healthcare of Acceeding Countries.

Weidringer has been a representative of the German Medical Association in CEN / CENELEC bodies, Advisory Board for Health Care Standards, in the DIN standards committee for medicine (Chairman of the Advisory Board since 2015), and since 2015 he has been a representative of the Comité Permanent des Médecins Européens in CEN / CENELEC since 2014 -Bodies, Advisory Board for Health Care Standards. Weidringer has also been Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Rescue Service and Hospital Standards Committee since 2019.

In 2015 he was appointed to the Defense Medical Advisory Board of the Federal Defense Minister, and in 2019 to the Scientific Advisory Board of the Maritime Medical Institute of the German Navy.
