Johanna Krause (psychiatrist)

Johanna Krause (* 1946 ) is a German specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy as well as neurology and an author . She is considered a pioneer in the field of attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder in adults (ADHD) and, together with her husband, has written a standard work on this (Krause / Krause) .

In addition, she was decisively involved in the development of the first German guidelines for adult ADHD, which significantly improved the care situation.

Life

Johanna Krause received her doctorate in 1971 from the Medical Faculty of the Technical University of Aachen . She is a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy as well as neurology and has a psychoanalytic training. She has had her own practice in Ottobrunn near Munich since 1990 .

She is married to Klaus-Henning Krause , with whom she wrote the standard work ADHD in adulthood .

Krause worked for many years in the management group of the Central ADHD Network ( Cologne University Hospital ), followed by Michael Rösler .

Awards

Krause is the recipient of the Saarland ADHD Science Award, which was first awarded in 2008.
