Johanne Büchting

Johanne Büchting (born April 1, 1924 in Magdeburg ; † January 4, 2019 in Einbeck ) was involved in voluntary work for more than fifty years in the field of help for returnees , refugees from the GDR , and repatriates . Life

Johanne Büchting was the great-granddaughter of Matthias Christian Rabbethge . After the Second World War, she and the Rabbethge family fled to the British occupation zone in Einbeck , where the family relocated the seed breeding company Rabbethge & Giesecke AG (now KWS Saat ). Johanne Rabbethge married Carl-Ernst Büchting first in 1944 and again in 1960. Both had two sons, one of whom is Andreas Büchting .

From 1954 she got involved in the Friedland camp . After the Friedlandhilfe association was founded in 1957, she developed a wide range of activities there, including in the organizational area. She was temporarily its treasurer and from 1978 to 2000 as chairwoman. At that time, she sent 1 million letters with requests for donations and raised 100 million DM for Friedlandhilfe.
