Johannes Amsinck (doctor)

Johannes Amsinck (born January 17, 1823 in Hamburg ; † September 7, 1899 or October 8, 1899 there) was a German doctor .

Life

Johannes Amsinck was a son of the Hamburg merchant Johannes Amsinck (1792–1879) and Emilie Amsinck (1799–1875), née Gossler . After visiting the University of Halle , he enrolled in 1846 to study medicine at the University of Heidelberg . There he was promoted to Dr. med. doctorate, then he settled as a doctor in Hamburg. From 1851 to 1855 he was a doctor for the poor . Amsinck belonged to the high school authority from 1862 to 1873 (until 1871 interim high school authority). He managed the library of the Medical Association for over three decades and maintained a medical library himself.

Amsinck was a member of the Hamburg Parliament from 1862 and from 1871 to 1877 .

Johannes Amsinck married Mathilde te Kloot (* 1845) in 1878.
