Johannes Berentzen

Johannes Bernhard Berentzen (born August 6, 1872 in Haselünne ; † December 31, 1942 in Münster ) was a German entrepreneur and politician ( center ).

Berentzen expanded his father's grain distillery ( Berentzen ) and the agricultural property in Haselünne. Since 1906 he belonged to the Chamber of Commerce for East Friesland and Papenburg and the Chamber of Agriculture in Hanover. For many years he was chairman of the agricultural association Haselünne-Herzlake.

For many years he was a councilor and member of the magistrate in Haselünne. From 1900 to 1929 he was a member of the district council and a leading member of the Center Party in Emsland. From 1925 to 1929 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Hanover and was elected by this on January 28, 1926 as a member of the Provincial Committee.

He was married and the father of six sons and one daughter. Hans Berentzen and Friedrich Berentzen were his grandchildren.
