Johannes Betz (theologian)
Johannes Betz (born August 20, 1914 in Redwitz an der Rodach ; † June 15, 1984 in Würzburg ) was a German theologian and priest.
Life
From 1934 to 1939 he studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the PTH Bamberg , from January 1943 to March 1945 at the University of Würzburg , from 1946 to 1948 at the University of Tübingen . From 1948 to 1953 he was a research assistant in Tübingen . After receiving his doctorate in Tübingen on December 3, 1953 and his habilitation in 1957, he taught there in 1958 as a private lecturer . From 1959 to 1963 he was an adjunct professor in Bamberg . From 1963 to 1967 he taught as a professor for dogmatics and propaedeutics at the University of Mainz . From 1967 until his retirement in 1979 he was professor of dogmatics in Würzburg.
