Johannes Ganz

Johannes Ganz (born June 5, 1932 in Eiweiler (Nohfelden) , Saarland ) is a German politician (CDU). He is a brother of Clemens Ganz .

Life

After leaving school, Ganz did an apprenticeship as a baker, which he finished in 1950. After the master craftsman's examination in 1953, he acquired the Abitur in 1955 and studied from 1955 to 1959 for the higher teaching post at vocational schools at Saarland University . In 1959 he became a trainee lawyer, in 1961 an assessor and finally a teacher in 1963. He taught at vocational schools and became senior director of studies and head of the commercial, technical and social care vocational training center in Neunkirchen (Saar) .

In 1960, Ganz joined the Junge Union and the CDU. From 1977 to 1985 he was a member of the CDU regional board in Saar and from 1978 to 1988 he was chairman of the CDU district association St. Wendel . From 1964 to 1974 he was on the city council of St. Wendel , where he was first alderman from 1969 to 1974. From 1975 to 1980 he was also a member of the Saarland state parliament . He left the 1980 when he was elected to the German Bundestag . In the first three electoral terms from 1980 to 1990 he was always elected via a direct mandate in constituency 247 ( St. Wendel ), after which he moved in once via the Saarland state list. During the entire time he was a member of the Defense Committee . From 1980 to 1987 he was also on the Committee on Education and Science . In the 13th legislative period (1990–1994) he was also a member of the Council of Elders of the German Bundestag. In 1993 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .

He is married to Annedore geb. Wagner and has five daughters.
