Johannes Gottschick

Johannes Gottschick (born November 23, 1847 in Rochau ; † January 3, 1907 in Tübingen ) was a German Protestant theologian.

Life

Gottschick was the son of the Rochau pastor of the same name, who worked in Rochau from 1846 to 1858. After attending the Stendal high school and studying theology in Erlangen and Halle, as well as attending the Candidate Convict in Magdeburg (1870/71), he taught for several years in higher education. From 1878 to 1882 Gottschick worked as a clergyman inspector at the Pedagogical Monastery of Our Dear Women . He then accepted his position as professor in Giessen (1891 rector ) and Tübingen . From 1891 he published the magazine for theology and church , at the head of which he was until 1906, and he also worked on the theological literary newspaper (editor Albrecht Ritschl ).

Gottschick published his main work in 1890: “The ecclesiastical nature of so-called ecclesiastical theology”.
