Johannes Jakob Diezler

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johannes Jakob Diezler , also Jakob Ditzler (born January 6, 1789 in Ehrenbreitstein , Kurtrier , † December 31, 1855 in Andernach ), was a German landscape and vedute painter of the Biedermeier era .

Life

Like his son Anton Diezler , who worked in his Cologne business from 1830, Diezler created detailed, topographically precise pictures of the Middle Rhine and neighboring landscapes that can be assigned to the cultural-historical context of the Rhine Romanticism . He found his motifs on the Rhine, from Cologne to Mainz. He also hiked on the Moselle, Saar and Lahn. In 1826 he exhibited two Rhineland regions at the Berlin Academy Exhibition, which were acquired by the Prussian royal house.
