Johannes K. Hildebrandt (born November 21, 1968 in Quedlinburg ) is a German composer .

Life

Johannes K. Hildebrandt was born in 1968 in Quedlinburg as the son of a superintendent and a catechist . From 1989 to 1998 he studied composition with Karl Dietrich and Reinhard Wolschina , composition with Antonius Streichardt and piano with Friedrich Macher at the Liszt School of Music Weimar . From 1998 to 2000 he completed a degree in cultural management .

In 1994 he founded the ensemble via nova . In 1998 he became chairman of the Society for New Music Thuringia ( Via Nova - contemporary music in Thuringia ). In 1999 he was a co-founder of the Standing Conference on Contemporary Music in Central Germany . From 1998 to 2007 he was chairman of the Thuringia regional association of the German composers' association; In 2007 he was elected to the Federal Board of the German Composers' Association. In 2000 he became artistic director of the Weimar Spring Days for Contemporary Music . He is also a lecturer at the regional music academies in Rheinsberg and Sondershausen . From 2005 to 2008 he was Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Thuringia Cultural Foundation . In 2007 he was appointed to the Federal Committee for New Music of the German Music Council . In addition, he has been an advisory member of the GEMA program committee since 2009 .

Hildebrandt composed over 70 works for instrumental, vocal and film music.
