Johannes Kleinschmidt

Johannes Kleinschmidt (also Johann ; born April 5, 1607 in Marburg ; † August 22, 1663 ibid) was a German law scholar and university professor .

Life

Kleinschmidt completed his studies in France and Italy . On the way back he was at the University of Basel with the dissertation De definitione inventarii folennis, investiturae Feudi novi & juris patronatus on August 28, 1633 to Dr. iur. PhD . On his return in the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War, the Fulda Abbey fell to Hesse and he was appointed to the chancellery there by Landgrave Wilhelm V of Hesse-Kassel .

Kleinschmidt received a 1637 reputation as a professor of institutions at the University of Kassel and was sworn in there on 24 August 1637th He was also rector of this university in 1641 and 1644 . In 1640 and 1654 he was a deputy of the university at the Kassel Landtag. Before April 12, 1651, he was appointed court judge in Marburg. On May 3, 1651 he was commissioned to set up a commission to codify the Hessian land law.

When the University of Kassel was merged with the University of Marburg , he received the professorship of the institutions in Marburg on June 16, 1653 and the professorship of the Pandects in 1654. Kleinschmidt took over the professorship of canon law in 1660 and also became a university syndic during this time , a position he held until his death. In 1662 he was also dean of the law faculty in Marburg.
