Johannes Kunkel (trombonist)

Johannes Kunkel (* 1958 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German trombonist and trombonist of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau for Rheinhessen and South Nassau.

Kunkel, who grew up in a Hessian parsonage, studied after graduating from the Melanchthon School in Willingshausen - Steina first Protestant theology at the Philipps University of Marburg , then music education at the Kassel Music Academy . Kunkel successfully completed his studies as a state-certified trombone teacher. After the exam, he was appointed state trombonist by the trombone work of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau in Frankfurt am Main .

His special tasks include leading the BiHuN selection choir (wind group in Hesse and Nassau), whose task is to perform more demanding wind music in concerts and church services. In addition to this ensemble, he founded the brass & band project with Burkhard Jungcurt .
