Johannes Kunz (journalist)

Johannes Kunz (born January 2, 1947 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist, publicist and entrepreneur.

Live and act

From 1968 to 1973 he worked for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation . He then became the press spokesman for Federal Chancellor Bruno Kreisky . From 1980 he was the managing director of Molden Verlag . From 1982 Johannes Kunz returned to ORF, where he was information director from 1986 to 1994; At the same time he was a board member of the Austria Press Agency and of the Concordia press club . In 1994 he ran for general director of the ORF.

In 1995 Johannes Kunz founded Vienna Entertainment GmbH , with which he founded the Salzburg Jazz Autumn in 1996 . From 2005 Johannes Kunz organized the Salzburg Jazz Autumn as managing director of the Salzburg Jazz Autumn Event GmbH . In 2013 this company had to file for bankruptcy. The planned last season in Salzburg could no longer take place. A move to Grafenegg Castle in Lower Austria was planned from 2014 . This was postponed to 2015 after the bankruptcy.

Johannes Kunz is honorary president of the Austrian Cancer Aid.

Since 1974 Kunz has published 35 books, including several on jazz and politics.

Johannes Kunz is married to Sylvia Eisenburger-Kunz for the second time, lives in Vienna and has a son.
