Lichdi, who represents more left-wing positions within his state party, announced in February 2014 that he would not run again in the state elections on August 31, 2014 in protest against the state party's black-green course. At the same time he resigned his spokesman functions within the parliamentary group. He left the state parliament at the end of the electoral term.

In May 2014 he was elected city councilor for Dresden-Neustadt. Since 2019 he has been spokesman for public transport in his parliamentary group .

Lichdi had to answer before the Dresden District Court from March 2014 because of the allegation by the Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office that he had violated the right of assembly in February 2011 by participating in a blockade of an approved neo-Nazi march . His immunity had previously been lifted by the Saxon state parliament. On April 7, 2014, he was found guilty of disrupting elevators and sentenced to a fine of 10 daily rates of 150 euros each. Lichdi's appeal against the judgment was rejected on September 29, 2014 by the Dresden Higher Regional Court as obviously unfounded. The constitutional complaint lodged against this at the Saxon Constitutional Court was rejected as inadmissible on September 28, 2015.
