Johannes Friedrich Lohmann

Johannes Friedrich Lohmann (born July 9, 1895 in Diensthop , Verden district; died May 3, 1983 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German Indo-Europeanist , linguist and music theorist .

Life

Lohmann received his doctorate in Slavic Studies in Berlin in 1921 and completed his habilitation there in Comparative Linguistics with Wilhelm Schulze . From 1933 teaching assignments at the Universities of Freiburg and Basel , from 1940 an associate professor in Rostock . From 1943 to 1963 he was a full professor at the chair for Indo-European Studies at the University of Freiburg .
