Johannes Ludwig (born June 8, 1903 in Kiel ; † January 7, 1985 ibid), also called "Hannes", was a German football player. He played both in the club and in the national team as a striker .

Career

societies

Johannes Ludwig moved to Holstein Kiel in 1928 after the financial bankruptcy of the Kiel rival Hohenzollern-Hertha. After he was very successful with Hohenzollern-Hertha in the 1920s and he was celebrated as a successful goalscorer, he achieved his greatest success with the 1930 runner-up with Holstein Kiel . The dismissal of Ludwig in the final of the championship, which was described as wrong after the game, was controversial. In the mid-1930s he finally ended his career in Kiel and later worked with Franz Esser as a trainer at Holstein Kiel .

In the immediate post-war period, Ludwig made a great contribution to rebuilding the Kiel youth work. Ludwig was a businessman in Kiel by profession.

National team

Ludwig's career with the German national team began on September 28, 1930 in Dresden when they were still able to win 5: 3 after falling 3-0 down against Hungary . Ludwig shot the 3: 3 in the 73rd minute. After the goalless draw on June 17, 1931 in Stockholm against Sweden , he still scored the goal to make it 2-1 in the 2-2 win against Norway in Oslo (60th). After these games he was never used again in the national team, despite good performances.
