Johannes Nörr

Johannes Nörr (born June 25, 1886 in Zumhaus , Breitenau municipality , Feuchtwangen district office ; † October 21, 1974 ) was a German veterinarian .

Life

Johannes Nörr attended the humanistic grammar school in Günzburg . After graduating from high school, he studied veterinary medicine in Munich, Berlin and Dresden. In 1905 he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Munich. In 1912 he was promoted to Dr. med. vet. PhD. In 1921 he completed his habilitation at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Dresden , where he became a private lecturer. In 1924 the University of Leipzig appointed him extraordinary professor for internal medicine of animals. In 1925 he went to the newly established veterinary faculty of Sofia University as a full professor . In 1927 he followed a call to the University of Giessen as a full professor for internal and forensic veterinary medicine and became director of the Giessen veterinary clinic. In 1930 he moved to the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich as professor for internal and forensic veterinary medicine and director of the university veterinary clinic. When the veterinary faculty was closed in 1939, he went back to Giessen, but returned to Munich after the Second World War , where he retired in 1952.

Nörr's scientific work, which he published in over 100 articles, extended in particular to the areas of normal and pathological physiology as well as internal and forensic veterinary medicine. Since 1931 he was a member of the board of the German Society for Circulatory Research for four years . In 1934 he was chairman of the society's meeting in Bad Nauheim.
