Johannes Rebmann (politician)

Johannes Rebmann (born May 19, 1812 in Pratteln , † March 1, 1890 ibid) was a Swiss politician .

Life

Rebmann completed a law degree in Basel and was notary and clerk at the High Court from 1836 to 1839 , then at the Arlesheim District Court . As a representative of the government-loyal so-called party of order, he was in 1838 and 1850 in the constitutional council of the canton of Basel-Landschaft .

From 1851 to 1854 Rebmann was Councilor and held the office of Justice and was a 1852 President. After three years he resigned for health reasons. In 1860 he was President of the Supreme Court and in 1849 he was a member of the first Board of Directors of Basellandschaftliche Hypothekenbank .
