Johannes Rothkegel
Johannes Rothkegel (* 1905 in Silesia ; † 1994 in Würzburg ) was a German glass painter .
Life
Rothkegel was born the son of a glass painter and began his training in his parents' company in Falkenberg (today Niemodlin ) in 1919 . After working as a journeyman in his parents' company for a year, he went on to travel from 1925 to 1934 in Dresden , Quedlinburg at the Ferdinand Müller glass painting establishment and in Cologne . In 1934 Rothkegel founded his own workshop in Opole and designed, among other things, the windows in the Franziskuskirche in Comprachtschütz ( Komprachcice ) and St. Valentin in Walzen ( Walce ), based on designs by Rudolf Kattner.
