Johannes Schildenberger

Johannes Schildenberger OSB (born November 3, 1896 in Lauchheim ; † February 12, 1990 in Beuron ) was a German Benedictine , theologian and biblical scholar .

Life

Schildenberger, son of Jacob and Maria geb. Mühlich, studied at the Pontifical Athenaeum Sant'Anselmo in Rome and at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Jerusalem . He received his doctorate in theology and biblical studies and was a professor of Old Testament Exegesis in the Theological College Beuron the Archabbey Beuron .
