Johannes Schneider (Bishop)

Johannes Schneider (* in Dortmund; † March 27, 1551 in Paderborn ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Paderborn .

Life

Johannes Schneider joined the Franciscan Order ( Cologne Province , Colonia ) and was ordained a priest . On April 19, 1507 he was named auxiliary bishop of Paderborn and titular bishop of Tbilisi during the tenure of Pope Julius II and was ordained bishop on May 30, 1507 . He then officiated as auxiliary bishop of Paderborn until his death on March 27, 1551. Among other things, he consecrated the Franciscan monastery church in Bielefeld in 1515 .
