Johannes Wild (politician)

Johannes Wild (born April 25, 1790 in Wolfhausen near Bubikon ; † April 9, 1853 in Wald ZH ) was a Swiss politician and industrialist . From 1849 to 1849 he was a member of the National Council.

The son of a cotton manufacturer worked in his parents' factory in Bubikon in his youth. He later established himself as an independent manufacturer. He owned two spinning mills and one weaving mill in the Zurich municipality of Wald . Together with his brother-in-law, he founded a mechanical spinning mill in Baden in 1837 , and another spinning mill was added nine years later in Wettingen . Wild was one of the most important industrialists in the canton of Zurich , and he later sold the works in Wald. From 1831 to 1839 and from 1842 to 1846 he was a member of the Zurich Cantonal Council . Wild ran successfully in the first National Council elections in the Zurich South constituency in 1848 . He followed the line of Alfred Escher , otherwise rarely appeared and announced his resignation after almost a year.
