Wolfhausen is a village in the municipality of Bubikon in the Hinwil district of the canton of Zurich in Switzerland .
General
The political municipality of Bubikon consists of the two roughly equal villages of Bubikon and Wolfhausen. Various industrial and service companies are based in Wolfhausen. Agriculture also has a significant share in the economy. Wolfhausen has its own primary school with the schools in Fosberg and Geissberg. The secondary school is attended by the students in Bubikon.
Industry
The industry is represented by two larger companies: the Schulthess Group and the foam manufacturer Fritz Nauer AG from the FoamPartner Group , which belongs to Conzzeta AG .
traffic
Wolfhausen is connected to the transport network by various main and secondary roads. There is a train station and a railway line to Bubikon, which, however, was only used by industry until 2013. The Wolfhausen-Bubikon line used to be part of the Uerikon-Bauma-Bahn network . Today the tracks are closed. VZO buses run every 30 minutes, every 15 minutes during rush hour, to Bubikon to the train station and to Hombrechtikon .
leisure
- The bathing establishment at Egelsee is a mud bath in the middle of the nature reserve of Wolfhausen. The pool is open every day from May 1st to September 30th. Due to the shallow depth, the water warms up very quickly.
- When the weather is right, the dammed Hüsliried becomes an ice field of around 2 hectares.
- The Rookie youth club offers space for regular meetings and various occasions.
