Johannes du Buisson

Johannes du Buisson (* 1666 in Vitry-le-François ; † July 21, 1726 in Hamm ) was a Prussian major general , chief of infantry regiment No. 9 and knight of the Order de la Generosite .

Life

He comes from a Huguenot family from France and fled to Brandenburg from persecution.

Buisson joined the army around 1680. In 1692 he became a lieutenant in the "Dohna" infantry regiment . On November 23, 1709 he was promoted to colonel . In 1721 he received the infantry regiment "von Auer" and was appointed major general on June 1, 1721. He was also commander-in-chief of the Prussian troops in Grafschaft Mark and curator of the Academic Gymnasium.

Buisson was married with children. His tombstone can still be found today in the Pauluskirche in Hamm.
