Johannes van Stiphout

Johannes van Stiphout († December 16, 1777 ), sometimes also called Johannes Stiphout , was the second Old Catholic bishop of Haarlem from 1745 to 1777 .

He was first pastor in Amsterdam and received on 11 July 1745 by Archbishop Petrus Johannes Meindaerts the episcopal ordination . Together with the Bishop of Deventer , Bartholomeus Johannes Bijeveld , he guaranteed apostolic succession for the Old Catholic Church of the Netherlands. After the death of Meindaerts, the two bishops consecrated the newly elected Archbishop of Utrecht Gualtherus Michael van Nieuwenhuizen on February 7, 1768 .
