John-Paul Clarkin

John-Paul Clarkin (born June 5, 1978 ) is a New Zealand polo player with a handicap of 8.

John-Paul Clarkin is the eldest son of the late polo player Paul Clarkin and his wife Chele. He is considered the best player in New Zealand.

In 2003 he won the Veuve Clicqout Gold Cup in Midhurst in a team with his future wife Carina Vestey and the brothers Mark and Luke Tomlinson . In 2008 and 2010 he won the St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow . He spends the year playing in Australia, England, Argentina, South Africa and New Zealand.

Since September 2, 2006 he has been married to the polo player Nina Clarkin , a niece of Samuel Vestey, 3rd Baron Vestey , whom he met at a polo party when he was 19.
