John Beradino
John Beradino (* 1. May 1917 in Los Angeles , California as Giovanni Berardino ; † 19th May 1996 in Beverly Hills , California) was an American actor .
Career
He began his career as a child actor in the Hal Roach films.
After attending University in California , he was a baseball player from 1939 to 1953 . He played for the St. Louis Browns , Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Pirates . During this time he did his military service in World War II from 1942 to 1945. After suffering a leg injury, he retired from sports in 1953 and instead focused on acting.
In 1963 he joined the Soap General Hospital and played the role of Dr. Steve Hardy until his death in 1996. He was nominated three times for an Emmy for his role .
John Beradino was married three times. Most recently from 1971 until his death from pancreatic cancer with Marjorie Binder. He is the father of four children.
He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
