John Bost
Jean-Antoine Bost (born March 4, 1817 in Moutier in the Bernese Jura ; † November 1, 1881 in Paris ) was a Swiss Reformed pastor and social pioneer.
After training as a bookbinder , Ami Bost's son became a tutor in Ireland . He aspired to a career as a pianist and took piano lessons with Franz Liszt , but broke off his career in 1840. From 1843 he studied theology in Montauban and was ordained in Orléans in 1844 . Afterwards he was pastor in La Force ( Arrondissement Bergerac ) for 35 years and founded orphanages and old people's homes , homes for epileptics and the mentally and physically disabled.
