John Bruhnke

John F. Bruhnke (born January 30, 1964 ) is a German basketball coach .

Life

The player Bruhnke from Krefeld was a protégé of Dirk Bauermann . He played for the BBC Krefeld and the Adler Frintrop Essen in the regional league. From 2004 Bruhnke and Julia Gajewski formed the coaching team at the women's Bundesliga club NB Oberhausen , where Bruhnke was responsible in particular for viewing and analyzing the opponents, Gajewski was responsible as head coach. In 2005 they became German runners-up, Bruhnke and Gajeweski then received the award as coach of the year in the women's basketball league . In the same year Bruhnke led the U20 girls from Oberhausen to silver in the German championship. In 2008 and 2009, Bruhnke NBO led to third place in the German championship together with Gajewski. From 2008 until November 2009, Bruhnke was also an assistant coach to the women's national coach Imre Szittya . After Gajewski had withdrawn at the end of the 2008/09 season for professional reasons, Bruhnke remained the sole coach of the Bundesliga club, in November 2009 he was dismissed in Oberhausen. In 2010 he took over the coaching position at SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen . In 2012 he also worked as an assistant coach for the male U18 national team.

In 2013 he graduated from the trainer academy in Cologne. In addition to his work at Bayer Uerdingen, Bruhnke took up a position as a sports teacher in Viersen in August 2018 . He worked for Bayer Uerdingen until 2019, during the 2019 summer break he took over the coaching position at the women's second division team TG Neuss Tigers .
