John Casablancas (born December 22, 1942 in New York , USA , † July 20, 2013 in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ) became known as the founder of Elite Model Management .

life and career

John Casablancas, born in Manhattan in 1942, was born to Spanish immigrants and grew up in the United States, Mexico and Europe.

In 2000 he left Elite Modeling . He chaired the John Casablancas Modeling and Career Center , which has numerous offices in North, Central and South America as well as Italy and Indonesia.

He is considered the discoverer and promoter of the career of top model Gisele Bündchen . John Casablancas himself used to be on the catwalks of the fashion world.

He died on July 20, 2013 at the age of 70 in Rio de Janeiro.

His son is the musician Julian Casablancas , the front man of the band The Strokes . His daughter is the jewelry designer Cecile Casablancas.
