John Correnti
John Correnti (born April 1, 1947 in Mount Morris , New York , † August 18, 2015 in Chicago ) was an American steel manager.
Correnti worked for US Steel from 1969 to 1980 . Correnti joined Nucor in 1980 , became President in 1991 and was named CEO by F. Kenneth Iverson in 1996 . In 1999 he had to resign. He then worked for Birmingham Steel until he sold the company to Nucor in 2003. From 2005 to 2008 he built the Severstal plant in Columbus (Mississippi) (now Steel Dynamics ). His last project was the construction of the Big River Steel steel mill in Osceola, Arkansas , which should be completed by 2016.
