John Coveart
John Coveart (born September 14, 1924 in Toronto ; † January 23, 1987 ibid) was a Canadian pianist and music teacher .
Coveart studied with Margaret Miller Brown and 1943-44 with Gerald Moore . He was from 1948 piano teacher and accompanist at the Royal Conservatory of Music and from 1960 at the University of Toronto . From 1958 to 1960 he taught at the summer school of the University of British Columbia , and he also worked several times as a répétiteur and accompanist for the Canadian Opera Company .
As a piano accompanist, Coveart u. a. with the French baritone Martial Singher (1969–70), the Danish baritone Aksel Schiøtz and on a tour through Canada and the USA with Anna Russell . In addition to Anna Russell, he made recordings with Jeannette Zarou , Stephanie Fedchuk , Barbara Collier and Janos Tessenyi .
