John Davies (athlete, 1952)
John Davies (born November 20, 1952 ) is a retired British obstacle runner .
In 1974 he won, starting for Wales , at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch silver over 3000 m obstacle and failed at the European Athletics Championships in Rome in the preliminary run.
In 1978 he was tenth at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton over 3000 m obstacle and was eliminated over 1500 m in the prelim. At the European Championships in Prague , he did not get past the first lap over 3000 m obstacle.
At the World Cross Country Championships he came in 1976 in Chepstow on rank 54 and 1979 in Limerick on rank 171.
In 1974 he became English champion over 3000 m obstacle. Twice he won the Welsh title over 3000 m obstacle (1977, 1978) and once over 5000 m (1979).
