John Higham (athlete)

John Higham (born October 25, 1951 ) is a former Australian middle-distance runner and sprinter .

In 1977 he was sixth at the World Cup in Athletics in Düsseldorf over 800 m and with the ocean team in the 4 x 400 meter relay . At the Pacific Conference Games he won silver in the 800 m.

At the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978 , he won bronze with the Australian 4 x 400 meter relay and was seventh over 800 m. Over 400 m he was eliminated in the quarterfinals.

In 1979 he was seventh at the World Cup in Athletics in Montreal, each over 800 m and with the oceanic 4-by-400-meter relay.

In 1977, 1978 and 1979 he was Australian champion over 800 m and 1978 over 400 m.
