Player career
Hollins, who grew up in a footballing family - his father, grandfather and all three brothers were professionals - came to Chelsea at the age of 17 . The midfielder, whose greatest strength was the ability to run, became captain of the team after a few years. The greatest successes with the Blues were the League Cup victory in 1965, the English FA Cup victory in 1970 and the victory in the European Cup Winners' Competition in 1971. During this time, he was called up to join England's team . He was allowed to wear the English jersey against Spain on May 24, 1967 . In 1975 he went to the Queens Park Rangers . After four years and 151 games with the Rangers, he went to local rivals for Chelsea FC at Arsenal FC . With the Gunners he also made it to the final of the European Cup Winners' Competition, but lost it. In 1983 after a few years at Highbury , Hollins went back to the blues, where he was used 29 times in one year.
Coaching career
His first coaching station was Chelsea , where he was under contract from 1985 to 1988. After unsuccessful games in 1988, he was fired from the Blues. After being kicked out of Chelsea, he founded his own sports company, which he ran until he joined the Queens Park Rangers in 1993. The Englishman took over the supervisory position and was even head coach for the Hoops for a short time (1997). From 1998 to 2001 he coached the Welsh club Swansea City . After Swansea, Hollins was a year coach at Rochdale AFC , Stockport County (here also at the Chinese cooperation club Stockport Tiger Star), Crawley Town and until December 2008 at Weymouth FC .
