John A. Keel
John A. Keel (birth name Alva John Kiehle ; born March 25, 1930 in Hornell , New York , † July 3, 2009 in New York City ) was an American author and journalist who dealt mainly with paranormal phenomena.
Life
Keel published his first book Jadoo in 1957 , which is based on a trip to India and dealt with the secrets of the local fakirs . Since the mid-1960s he dealt with UFOs and in 1970 published UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse. He relied on Charles Fort in his UFO investigations .
1975 appeared The Mothman Prophecies, which was filmed in 2002 under the title The Mothman Prophecies . In it, Keel describes the events that happened to him when he dealt with the so-called Mothman , a legendary winged creature that is said to have been sighted in various states in the USA, especially in 1966 and 1967.
Keel succumbed to heart failure in a New York hospital in 2009 .
