John Laband

John Paul Clow Laband (born March 18, 1947 in Johannesburg ) is a South African historian and writer, with research interests in the Zulu War and the Boer Wars .

biography

John Laband taught and researched for 42 years at universities in South Africa, England and Canada . In the course of his scientific work he published several works on the military history of southern Africa and the history of the Zulu . He devoted himself especially to the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.

John Laband is Professor Emeritus and Professor of History at Wilfrid Laurier University , Canada, and is a Life Member of Clare Hall ( Cambridge University ). He is also a Laband Fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a research fellow at the University of Stellenbosch .

John Laband lives in Greyton, retired .
