John Clay Lovell III (born October 11, 1967 in Baton Rouge ) is a former American sailor .
successes
John Lovell took part in four Olympic Games with Charlie Ogletree in the Tornado boat class . They finished eighth in Atlanta in 1996 , before finishing seventh four years later in Sydney . At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens they achieved 45 total points, completing the regatta behind the Austrians Roman Hagara and Hans-Peter Steinacher and receiving the silver medal. At their last Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , they did not get beyond 15th place. They also won a silver medal at World Championships in 2004 when they finished second in Palma .
Lovell is married with one child.
