Roman Hagara (born April 30, 1966 in Vienna ) is an Austrian sailor in the tornado discipline .
Career
In his youth, Roman Hagara spent a lot of time with his two years older brother Andreas and his sister Claudia, who was a few years younger, in Breitenbrunn am Neusiedler See in their parents' mobile home.
In 1990 the brothers achieved gold at the home European championships in Breitenbrunn and bronze at the World Championships in Medemblik.
Hagara took part in competitions first with his brother and then with Wolfgang Moser . He celebrated his greatest successes with Hans-Peter Steinacher , with whom he became Olympic champion at the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 and at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 . They are the first team to win this discipline twice in a row. Both started for the yacht club Zell am See.

In April 2018 the Austrian Post issued a special postage stamp with a motif from sailing with Hagara and Steinacher.
