successes
Nicolas Hénard took part twice in the Olympic Games in the boat class Tornado . In 1988 in Seoul he won the regatta with Jean-Yves Le Déroff by a clear margin. In the first five of a total of seven races they finished three times first and twice second, and in the sixth race they finished fifth. With that they were already Olympic champions ahead of the New Zealand and the Brazilian boat and did not start in the final seventh race. Four years later in Barcelona he sailed with Yves Loday. With a second place in the final seventh race, the two moved up to first place in the overall standings and thus overtook the US and Australian crews, with Hénard becoming Olympic champion again. At World Championships in 1988 in the tornado with Jean-Yves Le Déroff in Tallinn , he secured the silver medal. In 1992 he became European champion.
