Antón Paz Blanco (born August 8, 1976 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish sailor .
successes
Antón Paz took part twice in the Olympic Games with Fernando Echávarri in the boat class Tornado . The two first occupied in 2004 in Athens eighth before Echávarri and Paz four years out in Beijing in front of the Australian and Argentine boat Olympic champion was. With 44 points they asserted themselves in first place, after finishing first in four of the eleven races of the regatta. At world championships Paz succeeded with Fernando Echávarri 2005 in La Rochelle and 2007 in Cascais each the title win. From 2010 to 2016 he was active in the 49er boat class .
In 2005 the World Sailing Association named Paz and Echávarri World Sailor of the Year . In the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-2009 he was a crew member of the yacht Telefonica Black , which took sixth place.
