ISAF World Sailing Championships 2007

The 2nd ISAF World Sailing Championships took place from June 28th to July 13th 2007 in Cascais on the west coast of Portugal , not far from the capital Lisbon . The regattas took place in the sailing area of ​​the Clube Naval de Cascais on the Bay de Cascais.

A total of eleven competitions were held in different boat classes, four for men and women and three open competitions. Ten to twelve regattas including a final medal regatta were held for each competition. All competitions were held as a fleet race . More than 900 boats and 1,350 sailors from 76 nations took part in the competitions.

The World Championships were also the main qualifying competitions for the sailing competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . 75% of all quota places were allocated here.

Results

The placements in the individual regattas of a competition are converted into points. The result of the worst placement is not taken into account as a deletion result. The addition of the points determines the final placement, with the boat with the lowest number of points winning.
