Saskia Clark , MBE (born August 23, 1979 in Colchester ) is a British sailor .
successes
Saskia Clark took part in three Olympic Games in the 470 dinghy . In 2008 she took sixth place with Christina Bassadone . Four years later she and Hannah Mills finished second in London with a total of 51 points behind the New Zealand boat and ahead of the Dutch boat, thus securing the silver medal. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she managed to win another medal with Mills, when she was Olympic champion with 44 points this time ahead of New Zealanders Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie . At world championships she won the silver medal with Mills in the 470 dinghy in Perth in 2011 , before the two succeeded in winning the title in Barcelona the following year . This was followed by winning bronze in 2014 in Santander and silver in 2015 in Haifa . In 2005 she had already won silver with Christina Bassadone in San Francisco and bronze in Cascais in 2007 .
At the end of 2016, like Hannah Mills, she was named a member of the Order of the British Empire for her Olympic success . In the same year, the World Sailing Association named Clark and Mills as World Sailors of the Year .
